Roles and Responsibilities:
Linux system administrators must be able to apply technical skills and experience in managing selected Linux servers and numerous Linux workstations supporting highly skilled engineers working with advanced programming languages and algorithms. Manages and maintains a smooth operation of workstations while working with network, software, and hardware engineers that are remote and on site. Recommends and implements system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system including installing, upgrading/patching, monitoring, problem resolution, and configuration management. Develop and document technical processes and procedures as needed.
Administration of Linux systems in classified environments
Must be comfortable in the command line environment
Must be able to create and modify shell or other language scripts
Ability to learn new technologies on own
Configuration & maintenance of Red Hat products such as Identity Management (IPA) and Satellite Server
OS installations and network configurations on servers and workstations via Kickstart (PXE)
COTS SW installation, configuration and maintenance
Perform technical research leading to solutions of complex problems
Must be able to work in a fast paced team environment where multiple projects are being developed and deployed simultaneously
Basic Qualifications:
This position can be hired as a Level 3 or Level 4, depending upon experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
Active Security+ certification
Active Red Hat certification
Active Top Secret Clearance
Good understanding of remediating security vulnerabilities
Experience with hardening systems in accordance with STIGs
Experience with revision control software such as Git or subversion
Experience building custom RPMs
In depth knowledge of administering Red Hat Satellite Server 5 and 6
Experience with creating custom ISO build images
Experience with Linux-to-Windows interoperability and configurations using Centrify
Experience with configuration management tools such as Puppet/Chef/Ansible
Good understanding of RAID storage concepts.
Experience with NetApp or other NAS enterprise solutions
Experience configuring and administering virtual machines using VMware Vsphere 6.X
