Perspecta has an immediate/upcoming need for a Computer Security Systems Specialist in Washington, DC.

Perspecta is currently conducting interviews to make contingent offers for an exciting potential new customer, the Department of Labor (DOL). Candidates with a current Public Trust clearance, and all other qualified personnel are encouraged to apply for immediate consideration. The customer states that employees working under this task order shall be United States Citizens or legal permanent residents (i.e.: "Green Card Holders").

Under general direction, implements and supports local area network (LAN) and campus area network (CAN) hardware and software. Analyzes customer workflow and procedures to recommend operational support tools and technologies to satisfy customer needs. Ensures workstations/server data integrity by evaluating, implementing and managing appropriate software/hardware solutions. Acts as a liaison between the customer, suppliers, and other technical groups to resolve network and hardware problems. Analyzes performance problems and recommends solutions to enhance functionality, reliability and/or usability. Participates on project teams in the implementation of new/upgraded designs. Implements operational support standards and procedures relating to change management, performance management, and security. Recommends changes and improvements to existing standards. Ensures data/media recoverability by implementing a schedule of system backups, and database archive operations. Develops site administration documentation. Provides user orientation on hardware, software and network operations. Keeps abreast of emerging operational support technologies and industry trends.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Required:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field OR Associate's Degree and 2 years experience OR 4 years minimum experience

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Experience complying with IT security requirements including FISMA, NIST and other security protocols.

  • Experience conducting and providing security assessments and vulnerability remediation; experience developing and implementing.

  • Experience with Operating Systems and Infrastructure Components including being up-to-date with the latest versions, security patches, software updates, enhancements, and bug fixes.

  • Knowledgeable of NIST, DHS, manufacturer recommendations, and other industry and market standards for system administration and maintenance.

  • Experience including but not limited to Network components and their Operating Systems including Cisco, F5, Citrix, Juniper, and any other network components.

  • Experience with Server and desktop Operating Systems including various UNIX and Windows versions (Windows 7, 10, 2008, 2012, etc., UNIX including Red Hat, AIX, Solaris, etc.).

  • Experience with database services including Oracle, DB2, Informix, MS SQL, and any other network components used in an enterprise environment.

  • Experience with Storage Platforms and Operating Systems including NetApp, HP, Sun, EMC, and any other platforms;

  • Experience working in virtual environments including VMware, Citrix, HyperV, and any other virtual environments.

  • Experience with various software components such as Adobe, Java, and any other various software components.

  • Able to provide network management support that includes administering, operating, and maintaining computer network systems.

  • Works with team to ensure 99.9% uptime for the network.

  • Experience developing and implementing Access Control Lists with the appropriate documentation to support a least privileged approach to access security.

  • Assisting Information Assurance Team in the implementation of effective, streamlined, and all-inclusive perimeter defense including but not limited to Intrusion Detection System/ Intrusion Prevention System (IDS/IPS), Anti Malware, URL and Content Filtering, firewall security, and VPN Access, as well as any other requirements identified by the Information Assurance Team, OMB, or DHS.

  • Security+ and/or CISSP preferred

  • PMP certification a plus

  • ITIL v3 Foundation Level certification a plus

  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MSCE) certification a plus

  • An Active Public Trust or the ability to obtain a clearance.
