JOB DESCRIPTION

STG, a wholly owned subsidiary of SOS International LLC (SOSi), is seeking a Payroll Compensation Technician to support Global Compensation’s Separations pool in Charleston, SC.  The ideal candidate will possess experience in Payroll support services.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

The Compensation Technician’s primary responsibilities are Time and Attendance (T&A) reporting (bi-monthly), pay calculation, individual leave accounts, allotments of pay, and other individual pay matters for those paid under local compensation plans at serviced-posts.  Specific Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

•Responsible for accuracy of calculating and processing T&A into various proprietary financial systems, ensuring timeliness and accuracy of information.  This includes working accounts by organization or country code by processing a variety of transactions which affect pay, leave, taxes, benefits and other deductions.
•Receive, research, analyze, and process pay actions under Separation Actions  such as, but not limited to: Agency Change, Death Package, General Inquiry – Separations & Historical, Lump Sums, Overpayment & Overpayment Response Separations, Refund/Recredit of Lump-Sum Payment, Upon Reemployment, Separations, Supplemental – Separations, T&A Processing, T&A Processing Manual Submission, Transfer of Leave (Separating), Year-to-Date Adjustment (YTDA) – Separations.
•As needed, the following Separations Monitoring may be required:  T&A Adjustment Monitoring, Employees Not Paid Report, SCALP Report, Automated Adjustment Report, T&A Correction Errors by Org Code and Calculations Exception

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

 

•Security Clearance: Secret / must have Interim Secret to start
•Education: Two (2) year college degree in relevant area and at least two (2) years relevant experience
•Personnel shall possess a strong attention to detail, superior multi-tasking, analytical, complex problem solving, research, auditing, training, organizational, professional oral and written communication skills.
•Requires experience with computer-based applications as well as MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel and MS Word) experience at an intermediate level

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Prefer a candidate with a Four (4) year college degree in Accounting, Business, Computers, or relevant discipline. Knowledge or experience with the following software systems is highly desired: CAPPS (Consolidated American Personnel & Payroll System), Report.web, VLP Sharepoint and Dashboard, Employee Express, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), Global Foreign Affairs Compensation System (GFACS), GFS Knowledge Base (KB), GEMS (Government Employee Management System), DIS (Document Imaging System & various websites of government agencies (Employee Express, IRS, TSP. Office of Personnel Management) and other software systems required to complete the job

WORK ENVIRONMENT

•Work environment is normal for office setting in a multiple building campus (closely located) located in a Federal Facility
•The workday is 8-hour and 45-minutes including a 45-minute non-compensated lunch
•Core hours are from 9am-3pm
