Description
SAIC is seeking a Communications Systems Engineer to join the National Security Customer Group (NSCG) in our Chantilly, VA office. NSCG provides specialized engineering, analysis, and operations support to a variety of US Government (USG) customers. We support the generation after next of national security-related systems based in space, in the air, and on the ground.
The NSCG has an opening for an RF/communications engineer to provide systems engineering and technical advisory services to an IC research and development (R&D) customer. The customer is developing the next generation hardware, software, and architectural solutions for the IC.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Provide technical reviews and assessment of secure communication and/or networking technology development activities including electronics, antennas, and/or waveforms for space communication architectures
· Identify technology gaps, craft technology development and transition plans, devise concepts of operation, and define requirements and specifications
· Develop documents and briefings to communicate program status and brief government as required
· Provide support to acquisition, programmatic, and source selection processes as needed
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience
· 15 years experience with 5 years of communication or cyber defense technical experience
· Familiarity in communication design and related technologies
· 5 years of experience with USG program management, acquisition lifecycle, processes, and documentation
· Strong interpersonal skills with effective briefing and writing skills
· Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic and energetic environment
· Strong working knowledge of MS Office applications
· Current TS/SCI clearance w/Poly
Desired Qualifications:
· Master’s degree in engineering, physics, or related discipline
· 10 years of relevant communication or cyber-related experience
· Space communications experience
· Technical experience with commercial communication products and/or wireless network engineering
