Command and Control Senior Technical Manager

We are looking for a Senior Manager to join our team at Integrated Defense Systems (IDS).

Job Description: The Command and Control Senior Technical Manager contributes to the development of technology roadmaps and is responsible for developing pursuit technical strategies for all phases of the capture process across the entire System of Systems area. The Command and Control Senior Technical Manager also develops strong relationships with domestic and international customers within the Business. The Command and Control Senior Technical Manager is responsible for leading development of specific technology discriminators and capabilities that span program boundaries for all programs implementing System of System solutions at Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems (IDS).

This position will report to the Director of Strategic Architecture and will work with the IDS Technical Directors and Chief Engineers to provide technical oversight and leadership within the System of Systems strategic area. The Command and Control Senior Technical Manager also Participates in development and maintenance of IDS business area technology roadmaps.



Responsibilities will include:
  • Develops pursuit technical strategies for Gate -1 to 4
  • Sponsors and monitors execution of technical development efforts and is responsible for investment strategy applicable to System of Systems
  • Integrates/aligns SoS technical strategy with IDS business area strategy; collaborates across multiple business areas
  • Provides inputs to business area roadmaps and investments to support the business plan
  • Prioritizes among investments and timing of handoffs across pursuits, programs and product lines; reviews progress of internal Research and Development (IRaD) projects
  • Develops requirements for common architecture efforts
  • Stays on the forefront of his/her technology area and understands/communicates customer needs and preferences
  • Shapes customer approaches to solve Mission needs
  • Benchmarks technologies with the rest of industry
  • Supports technical red teams, program reviews and peer reviews
  • Develops new customer relations and supports capture efforts (i.e. customer shaping, requirements and system definition, bid and proposal and contract negotiations)
  • Supports cross-company initiatives including technical reviews (as appropriate)

Required Skills:
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must have active/current Secret US Security Clearance
  • Knowledge of DoD and/or program capture/pursuits
  • Minimum of 12+ years relevant professional experience
  • Command & Control experience
  • DoD Customer facing experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).

Desired Skills:
  • 14 years+ subject area professional experience
  • Strong understanding of System of Systems enabling technologies and capabilities
  • Experiences across system lifecycle from capture through program execution is preferred
  • Comprehensive planning skills for both short-term requirements and long-term opportunities
  • Knowledge, ability and experience in development of systems architectures encompassing multiple domains, products and technologies
  • Ability to serve in mentoring capacity to help grow the next generation of engineering leaders
  • Desire to foster a culture of innovation and creation
  • Ability to think strategically and create short and long term plans for acquisition, development, integration, and deployment of technologies in support of business pursuits
  • Outstanding communication, organization, and problem solving skills
  • Customer focus: proven track record of developing new customer relations
  • Excellent judgment and decision-making skills
  • Ability to obtain Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance
  • Advanced Degree
