What You'll Get To Do:

Serve DOJ Law Enforcement as a Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) subject matter expert, to build meaningful relationships with the Law Enforcement (LE) Agencies and customers. Identify needs for process and technology solutions in strategic and evolving business initiatives. Responsible for understanding the Law Enforcement business, processes, and workflows to ensure projects align with customer and industry needs and mission.   

Leader, advisor, trainer, and facilitator within the organization.   This position interacts with various levels of staff and management. This role requires effective customer relationship skills. Additional skills and abilities include:

  • Mastery of concepts, principles, and knowledge of the CJIS Security Policy (CSP) with experience applying policies and working with policies
  • Develops new insights; questions conventional approaches; encourages new ideas; designs and implements new programs/processes
  • Independently plans and carries out projects through to their conclusion.

This position is expected to demonstrate a deep understanding of CSP and requirements, customer processes and business operations.  Best candidate has experience at a CJIS Systems Agency or Criminal Justice Agency.   

You Will Bring These Qualifications:

  • 10+ years related experience
  • Past experience using CJIS systems
  • Comprehensive knowledge of NCIC, NIS, NGI, NDEx, ITSA, NSOR, NICS, and other criminal justice systems
  • Comprehensive knowledge of criminal justice information sharing platforms (e.g. NDEx)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of FBI CJIS, NCIC, and NLETS rules and regulations, preferably direct service on related board, subcommittees, or task forces (e.g. APB, Security and Access Subcommittee, Information Technology-related task forces)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of state and federal laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to the collection, storage, and dissemination of criminal history record information
  • Conducts studies and analyses on training course delivery
  • Oversee, coordinate, and evaluates training program activities meet the objectives
  • Determine the need and generate surveys and studies. 

These Qualifications Would Be Nice To Have:

  • Knowledge of the methods of instruction, design of training materials, and principles of personnel development to include Training Course Development and/or Consultation, Training Program Coordination Activities
  • Knowledge of SharePoint, JIRA, Remedy
