This position is eligible for a Sign on Bonus of 20k for a candidate with a current TS/SCI that can be verified and hired at Raytheon.

Job Description:
Raytheon IIS’ Hardware and Infrastructure (HW&I) Engineering team has an immediate opening for a Hardware Chief Engineer (CE) to be a member of the Office of the Chiefs for a satellite ground station program developing and delivering new antenna sites. This position will oversee and provide technical direction of the antenna ground systems under development, including RF and electrical system design activities and artifact development that ensure the end product meets all customer and contractual requirements. The CE will also provide technical direction in the case of performance issues, and is the primary customer and technical team interface for questions related to the system design. They will also be responsible for oversight of trade studies to assess new products and technologies with potential for inclusion in the system design. Other duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Direct and review results of technical analyses of electrical and RF systems, subsystems, and components
  • Review and approval of electrical system, infrastructure service, and subcontractor Statement of Work (SOW) specifications and designs
  • Preparation, review, and presentation of system artifacts at customer and program design reviews
  • Provide oversight of and review/recommend vendor products based on trade studies
  • Serve as the technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all RF and infrastructure system design, integration, and verification activities
  • Support the Technical Subcontract Managers’ (TSMs) efforts to monitor vendor technical design, development, integration, and verification activities
An active US Government TS/SCI security clearance is required as of day one of this assignment (US citizenship required).

Required Skills:
  • Engineering experience with RF communications hardware (modulators, demodulators, etc.)
  • Active US Government TS/SCI security clearance (US citizenship required)
  • Knowledge of satellite ground station architectures and designs
  • Understanding of antenna ground station hardware analyses and parameters (latency, signal-to-noise ratio, etc.)
  • General knowledge of common infrastructure (compute, network, and storage) components and services
  • Experience troubleshooting satellite ground stations
  • Familiarity with electronic test equipment (spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, power meters, etc.)
  • Experience authoring and reviewing engineering system design artifacts
  • Experience presenting technical information to customers and engineering teams
