Position Description

The Flight Mechanic II will be responsible for the support of all CH-47 maintenance, Maintenance Test Flight (MTF), Functional Check Flights (FCF) and recovery of aircraft at remote location to include riding as a passenger in the aircraft to perform maintenance as required.

Specific Skills and Requirements (Optional)

  • Flight engineers shall have an FAA Flight Engineer Certificate or a Service equivalent Certificate or Qualification on MDS required CH-47.
  • 500+ Hours in MDS CH-47.
  • FAA Second Class flight physical required. Army Contractor pilots have the option of maintaining either an annual FAA Second Class Medical Certificate or an Army Class 2.
  • Crewmember must satisfactorily complete unit aircrew training program Per AR 95-20

Education and Experience 

The Flight Line Non-Rated Crewmember CH-47F shall have the following minimum experience, certifications, and qualifications:

(A) IAW DCMA INST 8210-1C, must have a minimum of 500 hours experience as a flight crewmember, have previously qualified and served in such capacity during military service. Flight time and operational experience, will be considered to meet experience stated above based on a records review by the GFR IAW DCMA INST 8210-1C.

(B) Must Satifsfactorily complete unit aircrew training program.  ACT-E qualification and sustainment training IAW TC -3-04.11.  Satisfactory completion of an APART IAW with the CH-47 ATM, until DTP, DCMA INST 8210-1C and AR95-1 is mandatory.

(C) FAA Second Class flight physical required.  Army Contractor pilots have hte option of maintaining either an annual FAA Second Class Medical Certifiate or an Army Class 2.
