Defense

The Defense group supports the Department of Defense (DoD) mission to keep our homeland and its citizens safe. We provide solutions to improve the Nation's defense by providing software, systems engineering, IT, training and logistics and fleet management solutions.

Responsibilities

Provides expertise in the formulation of systems scope and objectives relative to the business plan and industry requirements.

Determines operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats.

Analyzes business and technical processes to formulate and develop new and modified business information processing systems, such as production and inventory control systems, financial tracking systems, call center management and human resources systems.

Works independently or as a member of a project team responsible for providing technical guidance related to the business implications of the application of various systems.

Devises and/or modifies procedures to solve technical problems related to computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time and form of desired results.

Creates detailed specifications from which programs will be written.

Responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for performing business case development and requirements analysis and elicitation that adheres to the Defense Industrial Finanacial Management System (DIFMS) software development life cycle (SDLC) and supporting documentation, including inherited documentation such as the DFAS 8430.01-I (DFAS System Life Cycle Management) document, ESS IAAA guidance, and DFAS Investment Management guidance.
  • Available to provide technical support to field users at all DIFMS sites to include AF, Navy, and MC depot maintenance activities; DFAS Columbus (CO) AM&C and DFAS Cleveland (CL) Departmental; and auditors.
  • Ensure that DIFMS remains in a steady state of audit readiness through testing, validation, and controls.
Qualifications

  • Requires 2 to 5 years with BS/BA or 0 to 2 years with MS/MA/MBA or 8 to 10 years with no degree.
