Business Area Manager

Description:
The Advanced Solutions Group has an opportunity for a Communications and RF Business Area Manager position in St. Petersburg, FL with travel to CONUS locations as required.
 
JOB DESCRIPTION: 
As the Manager for the Communications and RF Business Area in the Mission Systems Integration Operation, Maritime Systems Division, the individual will be a member of the senior management team leading over 20 employees across a portfolio of contracts and opportunities.  The BAM will report directly to the Maritime Systems Division Manager.
 
Specific duties include:
  • Develop and execute a strategic growth plan for the business area
  • Regular employee and customer engagement
  • Assist with financial planning for the portfolio; has budget accountability ensuring the scope, time and budget are aligned with business objectives.
  • Hiring and managing personnel, and facilitating continuous improvement in performance across all teams
  • Work closely with the Mission Systems Integration Operation Business Development (BD) team to identify and pursue BD opportunities
  • Train and assist subordinate PMs in identifying BD opportunities
  • Develop career progression/development plans for employees to recognize top performers
  • Work closely with functional managers – contracts representatives, projects controllers, legislative affairs, finance, HR, and staffing to ensure all programs are executed properly
  • Approve MRs, IPRs, and EACs as required
  • Ensure subordinate PMs meet all contract deliverables and contracts are executed on time and on budget
  • Plan and implement activities to facilitate employee engagement, customer engagement, and business growth across the business area
  • Travel to meetings to support customer engagement in CONUS required.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 12+ years’ experience managing personnel, managing projects and experience in a BD role (capture, proposal management, etc.); or Masters with 10+ years experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to simultaneously manage multiple teams for multiple customers including familiarity with the Navy Cooperative Engagement Capability portfolio of opportunities
  • Experience with every phase of business development – identifying, tracking, capture, and pursuits, and proposals
  • Experience with the design and development of phased array antennas, fixed antennas, and related RF subsystems at frequencies from UHF through millimeter-wave
  • Experience with hardware design, development, and production to include simulation
  • Experience with software defined radios and Broadband Meshable Data Link communications
  • Must possess TS/SCI clearance
