Business Analyst (Aquisition)

 

Koniag Information Security Services currently has an opening for immediate fill for a Business Analyst in Alexandria, VA supporting the Acquisition Enablers team in the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment, USD(A&S).

 

The Business Analyst will serve as focal point for Office of the Secretary of Defense-level defense business systems requirements and acquisition policy and guidance and will assist the customer with implementing various legislative requirements relating to the acquisition and management of business systems and IT in the Department of Defense. He or she will be responsible for overseeing and managing updates to the OSD-level business systems requirements and acquisition process, including writing policy and guidance content, directing policy-related discussion, developing and distributing IT and business systems-related training and guidance materials, and participating in cross-functional efforts to continuously improve the Department’s acquisition processes and procedures. Additional duties will include providing executive-level correspondence support, technical editing, office management, and participating in other IT and business systems-related efforts as necessary.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Coordinate and complete IT and business systems policy updates in accordance with the Washington Headquarters Services Issuances Process;
  • Provide subject matter expertise to development of IT and business systems-related guidance and training materials., including Defense Acquisition University courses;
  • Develop and maintain a collaborative web presence for IT and business systems-related training, guidance, FAQS, and case studies;
  • Assist the customer with responses to IT and business systems-related inquiries from Congress and various oversight bodies, such as the Government Accountability Office (GAO) and the Department of Defense Inspector General (DoD IG)
  • Monitor and manage IT and business systems-related taskings assigned via the OSD-level Correspondence And Task Management System, including preparing responses for principal or principal deputy-level signature;
  • Prepare executive level briefings and status reports for IT and business-systems related efforts;
  • Produce and edit policy and guidance, technical procedures, staff packages, and official memoranda for political appointee signature.

 

Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Writing, Communications or closely relevant fields
  • Must have a current/active DoD Secret clearance
  • Functional knowledge of the Department of Defense business mission area;
  • Knowledge of DoD acquisition and investment management processes, particularly with regards to information technology and business systems;
  • Experience with correspondence management, office management, and direct support for Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD)-level senior staff;
  • Ability to coordinate and develop senior management briefings;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Must be a self-starter that can recognize needs and act with little to no guidance;
  • Able to rapidly understand and apply new concepts.
  • Strong organizational, project management and problem-solving skills with impeccable multi-tasking abilities.
  • Advanced MS Word skills; proficient PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint application skills.

 

Working Environment & Conditions

 

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The work load may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress. The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
