Bluefin Robotics Dev Ops Engineer

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in software engineering or a related technical field is required (or equivalent experience), plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. Agile experience preferred.

 

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required within a reasonable period of time after hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

 

Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

Bluefin Robotics is looking for a Dev Ops Engineer to become a member of a dynamic, energetic software engineering team designing and developing state-of-the-art applications for autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs). You will work on software encompassing the full life-cycle of AUV operations, from embedded vehicle control code to GUI-based tools for planning and monitoring. We will consider both junior and senior candidates.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop, validate, deploy, and manage build servers and test stations. Maintain and update as necessary, primarily using Python/Linux.
  • Develop or customize simple UIs to facilitate initiating and tracking progress of processes.
  • Work with Design Engineering teams to identify requirements and develop specifications for calibration, characterization and quality control tests.
  • Perform configuration management duties for deploying software to embedded targets and desktop application suites.
  • Engineering liaison to Quality Assurance group when dealing with bug reports, collection of metrics and reporting.
  • Provide design for test (DFT) input into the Engineering design. Write methods to analyze data and extract key performance metrics.
Minimum qualifications:
  • BS degree in Computer Science, Mechanical/Electrical engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience in a Software Test Engineering role working with hardware products.
  • 3 years programming experience in Python, with experience in C/C++.
  • Experience working with low-level communication protocols for embedded systems.

Preferred qualifications:
  • MS degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field with focus on mechatronic systems or robotics.
  • Experience in lightweight UI development.
  • Comfort working in a Linux environment including automation and testing.
