BD Strategy Senior Manager - SNS

This position can be located in Tucson AZ, DC Area, or Huntsville AL.

The Business Development (BD) Senior Manager for Strategic and Naval Systems (SNS) will be responsible for management and execution of the growth and BD strategy across the entire SNS portfolio. The successful senior manager will assist the SNS Business Development Director in developing alignment with the SNS product line and Raytheon Missile Systems (RMS) BD organizations. This will entail the development, management and alignment of growth plans, strategies, and capture initiatives concerning both International & Domestic new business and growth opportunities. This position will also support key pursuits to sustain and grow RTN market positions in missile defense. The position is part of the SNS Business Development organization and reports directly to the SNS VP, Business Development Executive.

SNS consists of the Standard Missile-3, Standard Missile-6 and Exoatmospheric Kill Vehicle (EKV), Redesigned EKV (RKV), Advanced Kill Vehicles, European Missile Defense efforts, the Rolling Airframe Missile (RAM), Phalanx Close-in Weapon System, Evolved SeaSparrow Missile (ESSM®), Standard Missile-2 and Mobile Range® integrated suite of communications, optics and telemetry capabilities.

The selected candidate will, at the direction of BD and Product Line leadership, represent the interests of RMS to the Missile Defense Agency, the U.S. Navy and other associated customers to include potential international allies and partners.

The successful candidate will work to ensure alignment and prudent integration of the organization's domestic & international resources in an effort to maximize both short and long-term new business & growth opportunities.

Major Responsibilities Include:
  • Ensuring the SNS organization achieves all financial metrics related to bookings & sales as stipulated by the SNS Business Development Executive
  • Assisting the BDE in analysis and management of operational reports and program status with regards to New Business Initiatives/Investment and providing analytical recommendations on management path forward when warranted
  • As directed by the SNS Business Development director, and in conjunction with the SNS Product Line, assist with the development of the SNS strategic plan to advance the business mission by promoting revenue generation, profitability and growth.
  • Provide detailed analyses of International BMD requirements and develop time phased planning to enable international customers to acquire BMD capability
  • Interact with, and represent, the SNS Product line to senior officials in both the US and foreign governments regarding the entire product portfolio
  • Collaborate with other RMS Product Lines to ensure alignment and de-confliction of revenue projections. Develop Product and Technology roadmaps in collaboration with SNS Product Line leadership and Advanced Missile Systems (AMS) BD and Product leaders.
  • Assist the SNS Business Development Directorate with operational management of the organization on an as-needed basis
  • Develop and implement strategies for generating new SNS customers in both Domestic and International markets as a means to achieve core growth and adjacencies
  • Assist as the SNS Product Line Mergers & Acquisitions Manager as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), reporting to both the SNS Business Development Director and SNS Product Line V.P.
  • Identify partnering strategies for both domestic and international market access and growth.

Required Skills:

The successful candidate will have:
  • Minimum 12 years of progressively responsible related career experience, demonstrating ability to acclimate to increasing levels of responsibility (i.e. strategic planning, business development, program management)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of DoD Acquisition, FMS, and DCS processes, as well as all licensing, ITAR and offset requirements
  • Active Secret security clearance
  • Ability to establish and cultivate relationships with customers including the US Military operational commands, development labs and acquisition agencies
  • Experience in dealing with international partners including their customs, military needs and acquisition processes
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the strategic process & its elements, including solid understanding of defense policy, diplomatic relations, political economy, and international landscape
  • Proven track record of customer engagement and relationship-building
  • Demonstrated success working self-directed in a matrix organization to drive results through collaboration, teamwork and influencing skills to develop and achieve shared goals
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; commands presence and ability to demonstrate business and technical acumen. Demonstrated experience articulating customer positions, status and strategies to senior management
  • Ability to gain a clear understanding of the complete kill chain and RTN platforms and solutions
  • US Citizenship required

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree (Business, Economic, Political Science/International Affairs, Engineering, or related fiel

Desired Skills:
  • Master's Degree preferred
  • Existing DoD Top Secret Security Clearance
  • Sufficient technical background to adequately represent the company’s products
  • Acute listening skills with ability to effectively sort facts, demonstrating sound judgment and effective decision making
  • Business acumen for identifying new profitable business opportunities and making
  • Has the ability to prioritize what is a critical pursuit for the business
  • Familiarity with IPDS process and gate reviews
  • Program Manager and/or Capture Manager Certification
