Battlefield Radar Program Manager

Job Description:

The IDS Battlefield Radar (BFR) Product Line requires a Program Manager (PM) to support new and on-going programs. The selected PM will lead a small to mid-sized team consisting of other managers, supervisors and experienced professionals. The PM is the single point of interface for the customer and BFR Leadership and will have ultimate responsibility for the cost, schedule and technical execution of the assigned program. The PM will also support new business/capture activities as a capture manager, proposal manager, and/or individual contributor.

PM responsibilities include the following:

  1. Establish program baseline at startup that includes an Integrated Master Plan (IMP) and Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) which incorporates Earned Value Management (EVM) and rolling wave planning that reflects a contractually compliant and fully executable program.
  2. Perform timely and accurate estimates in support of quarterly Estimates at Completion (EAC) reviews.
  3. Ensure Change Management controls are implemented to change the contractual baseline.
  4. Perform Integrated Product Development System (IPDS) process tailoring and monitor execution to the tailored process
  5. Work with the functional disciplines to obtain the appropriate staff.
  6. Generate timely and accurate program status/metrics and report to BFR Leadership on a weekly/monthly basis.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum 10 years of program leadership experience on a program with significant development, integration & test, and/or production.
  • Knowledge of radar systems domain.
  • Experience in use of management tools including Earned Value Management System (EVMS), Risk & Opportunity Management, Integrated Master Plan/Schedule (IMP/IMS), and Critical Chain.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Integrated Product Development System (IPDS) and Program Management processes.
  • Effective skills in communicating (verbal, written, presentation) within the team, with senior leadership and with external customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with customers and key suppliers.
  • Experience generating a cost proposal and associated management and technical volumes.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with U.S. military contracts (particularly U.S. Army) and International (FMS and DCS) contracts.

Required Education:

  • BS, Engineering, Math, Science, or technically relevant field of study.

Desired Education:
  • Master’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Math, Science or related discipline

Clearance: SECRET will be required day one, to perform in this role.
