AWS DevOps Engineer

Overview

Fulcrum is seeking an AWS DvOps Engineer to support our customer at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency. 

 

The Government has a need to migrate software from an unclassified development project, into production on SC2S and C2S:

  • The IC and its missions operate in air-gapped, highly secured networks and environments, requiring a rigorous RMF/ICD503 assessment and authorization (A&A) process.
  • Applications must operate on secure, hardened baselines, which alter the OS/environment, severely restrict permissions, undergo Host Based Security System (HBSS) protection, etcetera.
  • Applications must obtain an Authority to Operate (ATO), which require PKI enablement, Online Certificate Status Protocol (OCSP) revocation checking, and remediation of SonarQube and Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) findings.
  • Government classified networks/environments have no internet connectivity,
  • SC2S/C2S only have a subset of Amazon Web Services (AWS) services, with unique Region Endpoints and Amazon Resource Names (ARNs).
Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology
  • Examine government requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications
  • Lead the C2S nuances for low-side development training program
  • Setup the software build management pipeline
  • Lead the Test Harness integration
  • Guide users (product owners) in formulating requirements, advises alternative approaches, and conducts feasibility studies
  • Incorporate new plans, designs, and systems into ongoing operations
  • Develop system architecture and system design documentation
  • Guide unclass development and implementation planning through A&A process and preparation of system for integration and test (into C2S)
  • Interact with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflicts
  • Responsible for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the unclass development
  • Communicate with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives
  • Developing relationships with end-users, customers, and teammates in which you are seen as a trusted and reliable partner

Qualifications
  • Active TS/SCI (CI Poly preferred or eligible)
  • HS and 12+ yrs relevant experience; OR Associate's and 10+ yrs relevant exp; OR Bachelor's and 8+ yrs relevant experience; OR Master's and 6+ yrs of relevant exp; OR PhD and 4+ yrs of relevant exp
  • Experience with Windows AND/OR Linux -e.g. RedHat based distros, Windows 7/2012+
  • Experience with software build management -e.g. Maven, Jenkins/Hudson, Git/Github
  • Experience with Shell scripting/programming -e.g. Bash, PowerShell, Python, Perl, etc
  • Experience using Linux tools (https://blog.serverdensity.com/80-linux-monitoring-tools-know/)
  • Experience with configuration management tools -e.g. Puppet, Salt, and/or Chef
  • Experience with networking -e.g. TCP/IP stack, IPv4, IPv6, Subnetting, etc
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) -e.g. EC2, Management Console, CloudWatch, VPC, etc
  • Experience with SCRUM/Agile -e.g. Atlassian JIRA, Confluence Etc
  • Ability to travel CONUS up to 25%
  • Certification in AWS -e.g. DevOps/SysOps
  • DoD 8570.1 and applicable Computing Environment (CE) certifications (these will be required to be obtained/maintained.
