Associate Engineer Software - Application Development

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a self-motivated, team-oriented, software engineer with experience in Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) and developing quick-turn software solutions that support OPIR Intelligence Analysts.This position will be located at our Beavercreek, OH facility.

This Software Engineer will support the National Air and Space Intelligence's Center's (NASIC) OPIR Tasking, Collection, Processing, Exploitation, and Dissemination (TCPED) activities that include 24x7 intelligence operations, reachback for advanced data exploitation support, and cutting-edge OPIR Research and Development (R&D) for NASIC and mission partners throughout the Department of Defense and Intelligence communities.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Designing, developing, documenting, testing and debugging software and scripting solutions that interface with both Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) and Government Off the Shelf (GOTS) software packages.
  • Conducting multidisciplinary research and collaborating with Intelligence Analysts in the planning, design, development, and utilization of software and scripting solutions
  • Performing code fixes for bug reports, developing new features for an existing toolset

To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

Basic Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's of Science Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other engineering-based degree with 1 years of related experience.
  • Experience with software languages and skills: C++
  • Active SECRET


Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:

  • Software architecture skills (e.g. design patterns, UML)
  • OPIR data exploitation experience
  • Languages/Skills: C++, Matlab, GeoServer, Elasticsearch, SQL, Opticks/Palette, Google Earth, Django, and Docker.
  • Active TS/SCI
