Associate Engineer Industrial

Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for anAssociate Engineer Industrialto join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA.

Statement of Work / Responsibilities:

SupportCapital Facilities Projects associated with modernizing and upgrading assembly, integration, and test areas. The SOW requires strong project management skills and experience, strong organizational skills, and a partner with the Facilities Engineering Project Manager, Cost Account Manager, and the functional teams to help with the planning, logistics, and requirements verification of this project.


The Industrial Engineer also supports the Industrial Engineering and Scheduling organization in process and systems & integration projects. Have an understanding of Industrial Engineering and Production Scheduling, as well as in using ERP systems such as SAP. Individual will help interpret capacity analysis and incorporate into what-if scenario simulations before applying to project schedule for review.
Responsibilitiesinclude the following:
  • Develops and implements plans that ensure the timely availability and effective utilization of labor, facilities, equipment, & tooling resources enabling the achievement of program delivery and cost milestones
  • Conducts studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems
  • On the basis of these studies, develops and implements plans and programs for facility modifications and revisions to operating methods
  • May assist facilities engineers in the planning and design of facilities
  • Develops and summarizes analyses for the acquisition, maintenance & enhancement of capital assets and miscellaneous equipment
  • Provides capacity planning, shop-loading and staffing analysis for functional production teams
  • Analyzes existing operational processes and develops metrics and reporting to optimize and improve program & operational performance
  • May be required to split support over more than one product line and manufacturing area, and support multiple program or production managers



Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM)
  • Knowledge and understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (SAP, etc.)
  • Knowledge and understandingwith AutoCAD or Visio software
  • Proficientin MS Project, Excel & PowerPoint
  • Candidate must currently have a current SCI Clearance and the ability to maintain clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1 or moreyears experience working in a manufacturingenvironment and hands on experience using shop floor production system (MES) Report programming experience (SQL, Crystal, MS Query, Bus. Objects, etc.)
  • Space Technology Experience
  • Experienceworking in a robust IPT environment
