Analyst Notebook Instructor


Huntington Ingalls Industries (formerly Fulcrum) has an outstanding new opportunity for an Analyst Notebook Instructor to support our Prime Contract at the Joint Improvised-Threat Defeat Organization (JIDO).  The Analyst Notebook Instructor will be responsible for both maintaining and updating curriculum as well as teaching the Analyst Notebook course primarily used in our accredited JITAC course.  Additional as requested Analyst Notebook training may be taught onsight or as an MTT.  The Instructor will provide training that reflects current and relevant curricula that sustains training support to JIDO personnel; Combatant Commands and their conventional and special operations forces; NATO and Coalition forces; Interagency partners; and Other Government agencies as requested.  He/She will ensure that all materials, educational processes and curricula delivery are in compliance with National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) accreditation requirements and Defense Intelligence Education and Training Board (DITEB) requirements. 

  • Provide classroom, distance learning, or MTT instruction for JIDO curricula on Analyst Notebook to personnel in Continental United States (CONUS) or Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS) sites, including hazardous duty areas. 
  • Instructor will be required to update and/or maintain Analyst Notebook curriculum to ensure that students have a thorough understanding of Analyst Notebook and how it is used to create a data-centric visual analysis environment.
  • Instructor must achieve certification and comply with customer use of Analyst notebook.
  • Instructor will will deliver in-resident or mobile training team course instruction on Analyst Notebook to include importing data, performing analysis, data modeling and visualization with a goal of teaching students to incorporate a variety of sources into a single cohesive intelligence picture.
  • Provides formal and informal student feedback. 
  • Must have a thorough demonstrated understanding of i2 Analyst Notebook with certification preferred.
  • Maintain current instructor certification IAW JIDO J7 Standard Operating Procedures and DoD Defense Intelligence Training and Education Board requirements. 
  • Comply with Foreign Disclosure Office and Intelligence Community Authorized Classification and Control Markings. 
  • Provide for routine review and updating of course material to maintain currency and utility. 
  • Instructors needed for the following areas: Analyst Notebook
  • Ability to deploy/travel for short periods of time worldwide.  
  • Other duties may be assigned, as necessary. 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of related experience for journeyman instructor level; 10+ years of related experience and Master’s degree for senior level.
  • Must have demonstrated understanding of i2 Analyst Notebook
  • Must have a minimum 3 years of podium time as a instructor, preferably at least half of that time teaching Analyst Notebook.
  • Formal instructor training/certification and experience teaching in the intelligence field or on topics involving improvised threats. 
  • Ability to deploy/travel for short periods of time worldwide.  
  • Expertise in using web browsers and browsing, search engines, and advanced search queries 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. 
  • Strong, detail-oriented analytical and critical thinking skills. 
  • Due to the nature of OCONUS travel, a U.S. passport is required. 

Desired or Preferred Knowledge & Skills:

  • Three (3+) years as a formal certified instructor in topics related to analyst notebook, the intelligence field or improvised threats 
  • Master’s degree
  • IBM i2 Analyst Notebook Certification

Clearance Requirements:              

  • Must have active TS/SCI clearance as viewed in JPAS
