This position is located in the Defense Threat Reduction Agency in Reston, VA. DTRA is the Department of Defense (DoD) focal point for the defeat of weapons of mass destruction, improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and improvised threats as weapons of strategic influence. There will be frequent travel between the Reston, VA location and other locations in the DC metro area.
Primary Responsibilities
* Acts as an LNO between DTRA and NMEC, communicating DTRA priorities and interested into the national media exploitation process.
* Works directly with customers and team members to research and identify exploitation media of interest, submit for exploitation, and provide intelligence tippers to DTRA intelligence analysts.
* Draft IIRs for collaboration with intelligence partners.
* Comfortable briefing senior level managers quickly and thoroughly with minimal preparation and be able to react to a highly fluid environment.
* Coordinates and interacts with analysts from service, component, DoD, and national-level intelligence agencies.
* Provide expertise necessary to assist in the development threat analysis methodologies.
* Respond to internal tasking and analysis as directed.
* Working relationship with JIDO, NGIC, DIA and NMEC.
* Ability to brief at the flag level and SES level.
* Experience working with or knowledge of improvised explosive devices is a major asset, as is experience in DoD C-IED efforts, data mining, and knowledge of terrorist groups, tactics, targets, and procedures.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree
Four to eight years of professional work experience in all-source analysis or document exploitation.
