Aircraft Mechanic I (Avionics / Electrician) Ft Carson, CO

       

Avionics/Electrician:
Electrician, field and hangar; aircraft mechanic, electrical Installs, adjusts, tests, modifies, repairs, and maintains electrical and electronic parts, assemblies, systems, and equipment in prototype, developmental, or production aircraft, engines, and components: Installs electrical and electronic parts, assemblies, systems, and equipment in aircraft, according to blueprints, wiring diagrams, and other specifications, using hand tools and power tools. Sets up and operates ground support and test equipment, such as test carts, panels, ground power unit, and ground servicing cart, to perform functional and continuity test of electrical and electronic systems. Interprets test results to diagnose malfunctions, and adjusts, repairs, or replaces defective parts. Modifies components according to blueprint specifications and engineering drawings. Fabricates parts and test aids as required. May accompany aircraft on test flight to perform functional tests or to make in-flight adjustments. Knowledge of design techniques, principles, tools and instruments involved in the production and use of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models

High School graduate or equivalent • Minimum three (3) years actual and recent aircraft general repair maintenance/modification experience is required•Must have completed military aviation maintenance training or maintenance technical school curriculum or possess an FAA issued A&P license • Must have basic knowledge of electrical theory must have thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, and micrometers • Must have UH-60 aircraft experience • Must have experience with Unit Level Logistics System-Aviation (ULLS-A) • Must have a current NACI/NACLC investigation • May be required to pass and maintain a U.S. Government background security check • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English
