AFRICOM Senior Logistics Planner

Job Description

What You’ll Get to Do:  

As the AFRICOM Senior Logistics Planner, you will recommend and support actions to build, maintain, and enhance AFRICOM’s logistics strategy to improve logistical infrastructure and networks that enable a rapid pivot from steady-state environment to contingency response operations.

More About this Role:  

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • You will coordinate with AFRICOM component commands and other strategic and operational partners to identify and document courses of actions in order to develop the logistics strategy, mitigate the gaps and seams to logistically set the theater, and increase logistics capability throughout the AFRICOM AOR.
  • You will develop logistic-focused that detail and analyze current logistics capabilities, logistics challenges, and risks affecting the AFRICOM AOR, and planned future logistics capabilities.
  • You will review and document component lessons from operational movements and exercises and from information gathered through working groups, boards, conferences, etc.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:  

Education: Master’s Degree in a relevant discipline. Graduate of Joint Logistics Course or equivalent.

Experience:

  • 15 years of logistics staff experience at the brigade level or higher including 5 years of joint, service or CCMD level.
  • 3 years of experience supporting planning and operations in the AFRICOM AOR.

Required Skills, Clearances, etc.:

  • Subject matter expertise with JOPES.
  • Subject matter expertise leveraging DOD logistics resources in support of Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief operations.
  •  Subject matter expertise in analyzing and assessing DOD logistics operations.
  • Current Top Secret/Specialized Compartmented Information Security Clearance.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:  

  • Successful completion of the Joint Humanitarian Operations Course (JHOC).
  • Successful completion of the Development in Vulnerable Environments (DIVE 1.0) Course.
