The Electronic Warfare Division has multiple openings for Aerospace or Mechanical Engineers. 


Leidos is looking for early to mid-career level engineers with an Aerospace background to support our growing work in the Eglin office.  This is a technical engineering position to develop a new flight control system for a novel high speed missile.   Work directly with the organizations developing the most advanced weapons systems in the world in the high profile area of hypersonic weapons systems.   

Be part of a close knit team and be mentored by world class experts.  The Aerophysics group operates in a small team environment where individual creativity is rewarded and continuous learning is the norm.  Our engineers typically work directly with DOD personnel and regularly interact with contracting teams from Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Northrup Grumman, etc. The Destin-Fort Walton Beach-Niceville area is home to world famous beaches and a relaxed ‘salt-life’ lifestyle.  

Use your aerospace or mechanical engineering skills to realize a new missile design in hardware.  Develop engineering drawings and perform design using CAD and structural analysis tools.  Use your knowledge of manufacturing to get parts built and assemble them in the lab.  Use Labview and other software to put this design into motion.  Mature the design and prepare it for upcoming flight tests.

Required
Experience Level:   Candidates should have Bachelors in Engineering in Aerospace, Mechanical, or similar and 2-3 years’ experience in industry.  These candidates would be expected to be able to perform engineering design using CAD tools, FEA analysis, and create hardware in the laboratory with minimal supervision.  These candidates should also be able to grasp the big picture and make decisions about how to proceed with analysis with minimal supervision.  
Communication Skills:  Successful candidates should be able to effectively communicate with Leidos aerodynamics and structural engineers, and interact daily with customers, team members and end users.   Must develop a clear understanding of customer goals and objectives and shape work activities to satisfy them.   Must present both verbal and written status on a regular basis.  

  
Engineering Skills:  Experience with one of the following disciplines is required: 
•    CAD Design
•     Demonstrated use of Solidworks or other CAD software
•    Structural Analysis
•    Demonstrated experience in Finite Element Analysis
•    Lab Software
•     Familiarity with Labview or other object oriented laboratory software


Education:  Entry level requires Engineering Degree plus 2-3 years’ experience in industry.
Clearance:  Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.  Position will be contingent on obtaining an interim Secret clearance


Desired Skills:
•    2-3 years Solidworks experience in an Aerospace design environment
•    Experience with Sierra structural analysis tool suite or other FEA analysis tools
•    Experience with Labview and MATLAB/Simulink to control motors and make measurements
•    Knowledge of material models
