Aeroacoustics Engineer, Senior

Key Role:

Provide scientific, engineering, and technical assistance (SETA) support to the government program manager (PM). Provide technical support and expertise in the area of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) quieting technologies, specifically pertaining to airframe-generated acoustics. Assimilate and integrate technical inputs from performers, and analyze performers' technical deliverables and reports. Conduct independent review and summary of related technical literature and emerging technologies, and participate in conferences and workshops related to program technical areas. Develop and document testing methodology and protocols, ensuring they align with program technology components. Coordinate, align, and schedule technology development tasks across multiple performers and performer continuous analysis of technical progress in comparison to planned cost and schedule. Perform technical and programmatic risk analysis and review and tracking.

Basic Qualifications:

-3+ years of experience with research in aeroacoustics

-1+ years of experience with research focused on the reduction of radiated noise from aircraft

-Knowledge of aerodynamics and mechanics of flight, as demonstrated through education or work experience

-TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph

-BA or BS degree in Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics

Additional Qualifications:

-Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently within a dynamic, interdisciplinary environment

-Ability to write concisely and accurately convey technical and scientific issues to people with varying levels of expertise

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-BA or BS degrees in Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering preferred; MA or MS degree in Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics a plus
