Advanced EO Systems - Senior Level - EO Systems Engineer - Secret

This position is for a technical expert in the field of Electro-Optical Infra-Red systems to support growth initiatives and new programs in advanced electro-optical systems. Responsibilities include system architecture, performance analysis, requirements generation, development oversight, and IV&V oversight on active and passive EO programs. This position will also provide technical leadership of new business development. This individual will be one of the main technical points of contact for the customer and will be need to be an expert working with the customers and contractors both military and civilian.

Responsible for program technical execution, schedule performance, and technical interface with customers and suppliers. This includes responsibility for the architecture, design, and concept consistent with systems requirement and interface designs. This individual will work with the customer, teammates and vendors to assure the end product meets the criteria that was defined by both this individual and the customer, as well as putting teammate’s ideas in front of the customer. Directs the technical activities of lower level systems engineers, and influences multiple discipline engineering teams throughout the development, integration and sell-off-cycles.

Accountable for the effective design and implementation of robust Test and Evaluation (T&E) strategies. Will architect T&E events and environments which efficiently and effectively utilize models, simulations, test beds, prototypes, and full-scale Engineering Development Models (EDMs) to satisfy development and environmental/qualification objectives.
Will engage less experienced workforce, in a protégé mentoring capacity, to help facilitate organizational talent objectives to grow human intellectual capital and help reduce/eliminate organizational single-point failures with Systems Engineering skills.

Must be able to work with a variety of senior Raytheon personnel, including but not limited to Chief Engineers, Systems Architects, Business Development leaders, and Engineering Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). Must be able to work with Program Managers to provide solutions supportive of budgets, and must be able to negotiate priorities when multiple programs make request of availability.

Required Skills:
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in systems engineering, system design/analysis or related experience.
  • Requires background in EO/IR hardware and software design, laser design, coherent imaging, vibrometry and LADAR theory or related experience.
  • Experience in coordination/communication with multi-disciplined teams.
  • Experience with modeling/analyzing atmospheric effects and target phenomenology.
  • Must have active DoD Secret security clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Must have ability to access to US only data systems

Desired Skills:
  • Experience in model based systems engineering (Rhapsody, CORE or equivalent tool).
  • Experience managing requirements (DOORS or equivalent tool).
  • Expertise in MATLAB. SSBI clearance.

Required Education: A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)

This position requires a U.S. person or the ability to obtain an Export Authorization from the appropriate government agency for non-U.S. persons

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.
