Position Description
RAND is currently seeking an administrative assistant to provide high-level support to the Associate Director and Research Quality Assurance Manager of Project Air Force (PAF) as well as other senior research staff. The assistant will coordinate the quality assurance (QA) process and interact with reviewers - internal and external - and handle all administrative tasks associated with the QA process. Responsibilities will include handling all logistics of the weekly QA meetings as well as interaction with the budget associate. The assistant will manage all the Associate Director operational tasks, manage the Associate Director's calendar, which requires a strong sense of discretion when dealing with sensitive meetings. Additional responsibilities include drafting correspondence, keeping tasks on track on schedule. Other AA functions will involve travel arranging and expense reimbursement, drafting correspondence, editing chapter notes and memos and handing coordination of research documents within RAND´s publication process.

The position requires a self-starter with excellent written and oral communication skills who has a demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Must possess a strong sense of discretion to safeguard sensitive data.

Must possess excellent skills in the Microsoft Office suite with a particular focus on Word and Excel database management.

Experience with Kanboard is a plus.

Education Requirements
Required: High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred: BA/BS degree

Minimum: 3 years; Preferred 6-8 years.

Security Clearance
The ability to obtain a secret clearance is required; transferrable clearance is preferred.
