Accounting Technician

Job Description

Job duties:

Works on site with government finance team to perform accounts payable and accounts receivable activities. This may include, but is not limited to preparing and completing financial documents, document review and processing, data entry into various databases/systems, electronic and soft copy file maintenance, spreadsheet maintenance, and communication with Attorneys, Paralegals, Legal Support Assistants, other Executive Office staff and outside vendors. This will also include reporting, reconciliation, and data gathering for data calls. The accounting technician shall also be responsible for making necessary corrections and properly documenting when needed.  He/She will also be responsible for participating in the quarterly accrual process, which includes making calculations and keying numbers into a spreadsheet, as well as contacting vendors, attorneys, or other staff to get deliverable information as needed.  He/She may also assist with budget activities.  Duties may require periods of travel.  Performs quality control and ensures timely delivery of all specified deliverables. 

Required qualifications:   

Two-year degree in accounting or four-year degree in a related field (finance, business, banking, or economics) with 30 credit hours in accounting.  With the COR’s approval, relevant financial and accounting experience performing technical level duties in accounting, banking, or finance for corporations or non-profit organizations may be substituted for the education and credit requirements.  Accounts payable and accounts receivable experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, preferably with advanced functions of Excel. Ability to work with numbers and sums. Good customer service skills. Experience in banks and banking.  Knowledge of manual and automated accounting systems used by banking, financial and other institutions.  Excellent oral and written communications skills.  Ability to perform detailed work consistently, accurately, and under pressure and tight deadlines is extremely important. 

A DOJ MBI is required to begin employment. For this position, CACI has the ability to provide clearance sponsorship for qualified individuals.

Desired Qualifications: 

A professional, can-do attitude is important, as well as excellent attention to detail.  Strong math skills and competency with Excel, Word and Adobe are needed.  Ability to work well in a team environment is very important. Experience supporting litigation/legal teams is important.  Experience with Momentum® is preferred (UFMS: Unified Financial Management System) is strongly desired.
