  • The Accountant III reviews andanalyzes financial data, documents and manual or automated accounting systems.Workmay be performed under guidance of a contractor Auditor or FinancialAnalyst.

Duties andResponsibilities:

  • Establishesand maintains general and subsidiary accounts and related ledgers includingrevenue and disbursement.
  • Reconcilesvarious accounting reports to the general ledger.
  • Gathers,compiles, and prepares financial and statistical.
  • Reviewsfinancial documents such as vouchers, purchase orders, and invoices to ensurethat proper cost centers are charged, that expenditures and revenues arerecorded in the proper classification, and that purchases and othertransactions are proper in accordance with the approved budget. Determines thelevel and appropriateness of year-end closing accruals, prepayments, deferrals,depreciation, or adjustments.
  • Providesup-to-date detailed cost accounting information for budgeting and cost controlpurposes.
  • Gathers,compiles and analyzes data to assist in the rate development process.
  • May oversee the efforts of less senior staffand/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job.
  • Otherduties as assigned

MinimumQualifications: (Toperform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform eachessential duty satisfactorily.)

  • Master’s degree and/or certification(s) in arelated labor category field from an accredited college, university, school oreducational institution that has been accredited by accrediting bodies ororganizations recognized by the US Department of Education and at least five(5) years of relevant technical experience.
  • Certified Public Accountant required
  • Ability to provide favorable credithistory

Knowledge, Skillsand Abilities:

  • Must be able to work effectively inan extremely pressured environment.
  • Must have and use excellent oraland written communications skills.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft2010 or newer programs.

  • Theemployee will normally work in a temperature-controlled office environment,with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment.
  • Duringvisits to areas of operations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weatherconditions. Is occasionally exposed tofumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
