AAF Budget/Finance Trainer-TA

       

Develop training packages for the AAF A8 internal training program to cover current MoD budgeting processes that include end-of-year closeout procedures, out-cycle unfunded requirements and successfully defending budgets.  Develop training packages for the AAF A8 to provide to subordinate A8 shops.  This training shall support input during the headquarters financial decision process, and shall define funding direction.  Quarterly training on implementing and reviewing this process shall be conducted at Kandahar and Shindand AAF bases as directed.  Train the AAF A8 to develop short-term financial plans, execute current year budgets and to request increased fiscal and procurement authorities.  Train the AAF A8 in defining their Tashkil MOS and applicable ASI.  Train the AAF A8 in development of Master Task Lists (MTL) training requirements.  Train the AAF A8 in operating within the AAF command and authority lines regarding fiscal requirements and budget level authority increases.  Train the AAF A8 in process flow and procedures necessary for the implementation and execution of the AAF Aviation Budget Builder (ABB).

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years in budgeting, accounting or related area
  • Must be a US Citizen 
  • Achieve and maintain a working knowledge of GIRoA accounting and budgetary policies, manuals, procedures and processes.
  • Must be able to pass CENTCOM medical, dental and other CRC-related deployment requirements from CRC at Ft. Bliss, TX.    
  • Must continue to maintain CENTCOM Mod 13 and other deployment-related requirements for the Afghanistan theater of operations     
  • Must be able to receive and maintain a current/active Afghanistan visa 
  • Must be in possession of and maintain an appropriate-level current/active security clearance with eligibility to receive/maintain a NATO clearance for the duration of the deployment      
  • Must be willing to work and live in austere and hostile environments in Afghanistan, and understanding of the possibility to be further assigned to any location in Afghanistan, as allowed by the contract 
  • Must be willing and able to travel outside of protected areas via military convoys or MILAIR, and wear protective clothing and equipment, as required.  Force protection will be provided by authorized sources.   
  • Must have the demonstrated ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing 
  • Must comply with all theater command policies, regulations, and General Orders 

    Desired: 

  • Previous OCONUS experience. (Prefer Afghanistan or Iraq)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related area
  • 10 years’ experience in budgeting, accounting, or related area
  • Prefer experience on Military BN/BDE staff and understand the MDMP concept
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret and NATO security clearance.
