AAF Aircraft Maintenance A4M Trainers-TA

       

Develop, maintain and coordinate Tashkil equipment and personnel authorizations for AAF aircraft engineer functions. Coordinate with CJ4M on the development, briefing and execution of AAF decrees to establish the functions above and an airworthiness program. Ensure integration and consistency with MoD and higher-level policies within the Government of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan (GIRoA). Develop and implement AAF training policy that defines the interactions, roles, responsibilities, authority limits, standard forms, and processes used in the training functions. Instruct in development of transition plans to achieve end state maintenance technicians training goals from present state AAF training programs. Coordinate these plans with CJ4M, CJ1/7 trainers and AAF equivalents. Promote coordination and cooperation between AAF A4M aviation engineering staff and the AAF staffs and the AAF air wings’ aviation engineers. Train the AAF maintenance community in the professional and technical development of officers and non-commissioned officers (NCOs). Make recommendations to CJ4M and CJ1/7 to enhance professional and technical training. Instruct planning measures to achieve and maintain AAF aircraft to an airworthiness standard accepted by cognizant engineering offices. Provide protocol-type training that will enable the customer to better establish working capabilities, both internal and external to GIRoA MoD, and determine courses of action required to establish an Afghan airworthiness authority among host nation and coalition stakeholders. Train AAF to build direct relationships between GIRoA MoD and cognizant engineering authorities of assigned aircraft with the goal of securing AAF access to technical bulletins and engineering support. Assists AAF in the effective Tashkil authorizations and assists J-Lead in establishing Tashkil builds or repurposing for AAF organization establishment, management, or dissolution. Coordinates with CSTC-A on AAF Tashkil requirements and ensures compliance with Tashkil update timelines. Train the AAF-equivalent office(s) of TAAC-Air Coalition J4/Maintenance (CJ4M) to develop the functions, processes and effective execution of fleet management, configuration control, aircraft maintenance training, aircraft maintenance force development, aircraft maintenance policy, aircraft modification, parts assistance, acquisition requirements/spares forecasting, technical data/service bulletin distribution, engineering requests and material defect reporting within the AAF.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in aircraft maintenance
  • Proficient in the use of the current maintenance management system utilized to maintain army aircraft and forms and records
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must possess a level of experience necessary to inspect all aircraft assigned
  • Must be capable of qualifying to perform Hazardous Flight duties as Crew members/Non-Crew members
  • Required to meet the qualifications in AR 95-20
  • Must be a US Citizen 
  • Must be able to pass CENTCOM medical, dental and other CRC-related deployment requirements from CRC at Ft. Bliss, TX.    
  • Must continue to maintain CENTCOM Mod 13 and other deployment-related requirements for the Afghanistan theater of operations     
  • Must be able to receive and maintain a current/active Afghanistan visa 
  • Must be in possession of and maintain an appropriate-level current/active security clearance with eligibility to receive/maintain a NATO clearance for the duration of the deployment      
  • Must be willing to work and live in austere and hostile environments in Afghanistan, and understanding of the possibility to be further assigned to any location in Afghanistan, as allowed by the contract 
  • Must be willing and able to travel outside of protected areas via military convoys or MILAIR, and wear protective clothing and equipment, as required.  Force protection will be provided by authorized sources.   
  • Must have the demonstrated ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing 
  • Must comply with all theater command policies, regulations, and General Orders 

    Desired: 

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in aviation maintenance
  • Previous OCONUS experience. (Prefer Afghanistan or Iraq)
  • Airframe and Power plant (A&P) license
  • Understand the capabilities of the C130/C208/MI-17/A29/MD530/Scan Eagle
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret and NATO security clearance.
