PSS is actively seeking a Senior-level UNIX System Administrator to support our team in Suitland, MD.
Roles & Responsibilities
This position is responsible for system administration for UNIX servers. You will also be responsible for administering and troubleshooting UNIX environment problem.

Skills
Requirements
- Must have 4+ years of Solaris system administrator experience and be familiar with dealing directly with mid-level server platform hardware
- BA/BS Degree or equivalent of 6 years additional hands on experience
- System administration experience with Solaris 7,8,9,10
- Experience building servers up to the V880 architecture and networking to the LAN
- Basic TCP/IP understanding
- Experience attaching external storage servers and configuring storage using third party tools
- Experience applying security tools
- Basic DNS/BIND skills
- Volume Manager experience
- Experience performing network backups (Netbackup)
- Strong teamwork skills
- Excellent Interpersonal Skills
Desired Skills
- Disk mirroring experience
- Understanding of the various shell capabilities (sh, csh, ksh, etc.)
