Information Technology (IT) Project Manager Job
The Intelligence Systems Business Unit of SAIC currently has a career opportunity for an Information Technology (IT) Project Manager in Afghanistan (primary IT sites are rotation-based).
This POSITION REQUIRES A CURRENT TOP SECRET CLEARANCE WITH SCI ACCESS. APPLICANTS WITHOUT TS/SCI WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
This position is assigned in the Department of Defense, Defense Intelligence Agency, Southeast Regional Service Center (SE RSC) located at MacDill AFB, Tampa, Florida. Applicant will not be required to move to Tampa, FL. Candidate will serve as a member of the SE RSC information technology (IT) project management office and report to the Forward DS Chief in Afghanistan. Candidate will be responsible for working closely with customers to review customer-validated IT requirements,using the SIEBEL tracking system, develop comprehensive project plans, initiate bill of materials, identify budget requirements/funding sources, write task descriptions, work breakdown structures (WBS), and to accomplish program/project requirements and mission objectives. Candidate will lead, monitor, and control costs, schedules, performance, and risk mitigation strategies through the use of sound project management methodologies. Additionally, candidate will be responsible for the implementation of major, new strategic intelligence information systems. This position also requires the Candidate to: prepare and present briefings as necessary; provide thorough quality control of all written products; organize, chair, host, and participate in working groups and other meetings as required. Candidate may be requested to represent the SE RSC at planning meetings and conferences. Candidate will be required to travel both CONUS and OCONUS to oversee the execution of projects; must be able to deploy to hazardous duty locations. Kandahar, Afghanistan is the current base, but that can change to other Afghan locations. Candidate must be able to pass/accomplish all DIA deployment criteria.
Candidate must have: experience as an Information Technology Project Manager; experience in all facets of requirements analysis and IT-systems planning; familiarity with Command, Service, and Agency intelligence mission applications; experience in Department of Defense intelligence IT support organizations/staff elements at tactical, joint, or strategic levels; experience with implementing projects in hazardous duty locations; ability to work independently or as a team member in a fast-paced, demanding environment. Also, strong Microsoft Office automation skills, excellent people skills, and excellent oral and written skills. Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university or addition of 10 years to overall experience requirement. SYSTEMS ENGINEERING (SE) EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 3 years experience, or 1 year with degree or certification in SE.
Experience in the USCENTCOM and AORs; training in industry-standard Project Management practices and procedures; hands-on experience in providing intelligence IT systems support; effective time-management skills; knowledge of the missions, functions, and organizational relationships of SE Region combatant commands and enterprise intelligence centers/agencies. PMP certification, Security Plus and ITIL 3 training preferred.
