Congratulations Jasmin!!

We’ve just received word that Jasmin, a former ClearedJobs.Net team member on active duty overseas with the U.S. Marine Corps, has been meritoriously promoted to Corporal and was selected as Marine of the quarter.  A plaque will be hung in the 4th CAG headquarters in DC.

And a few weeks ago, Jasmin was highlighted in an article, Female Marines Connect With Afghan Women During Patrols, where she was quoted as sharing some of her experiences:

Marine Corps Association 2009 Ground Awards Dinner

Last night, I enjoyed myself thoroughly at the MCA Ground Awards Dinner which celebrates the work of the four Marine Divisions:

  • Marines of the Year
  • the 2008 Leftwich Trophy Winner
  • the Hulbert Trophy Winner
  • …and the Chambers Award Winner

MCA is the host of the event in coordination with HQMC PP&O. The evening’s speaker was General Alfred M. Gray, USMC (Ret) 29th Commandant of the Marine Crops.

It is always an honor to attend one of the Marine Corps Associations events and we are proud to be a Corporate Member and a founding member of the Marine Corps Association Foundation.

Second only to the Annual Marine Corps Association…

Enjoy Rolling Thunder Memorial Day photos

rolling_thunderMemorial Day 2009 included being part of the Rolling Thunder pre-parade and then going downtown to view the 400,000 bikes come into town. On my way back from Vienna, I was stopped on the ramp from 267 to 66 East along with 75 bikers. The State police stopped us for about 30 minutes as we waited for the pre-parade to come in from West Virginia on Route 66.

Train roots

The Train of Pain team has been around for about 10-years and had its birth as a Masters Road and Track racing team which competed throughout California and Arizona. It transitioned to a more social club, with a little…

#milspouseday really should be more than one day…and we agree

After giving our #milspouseday efforts more thought and consideration over Mother’s Day weekend, I was inspired by comments someone on LinkedIn made regarding our good outreach. They said what we were doing on Twitter at @milspouseday was such a nice thing to do that it would be nice if we could do it for more than a day or a weekend.

This is so true. Military spouses are ultra special and need our love, appreciation and support all the time. As a result, I think we will just continue our military spouse outreach effort casually as we are able to scope out #milspouses on the twittersphere and give them…
